Remember the flying cars in the film “Back to the Future II”? Outrageous, right? No one would ever think that it would be possible–to drive a flying car. Much less by 2015, the year on which the movie is set. However…. Would you freak if it were technolgically possible to drive a flying car by as early as 2012? Most definitely.
It’s true. The research is out, and it’s no joke. We’ll technically have flying cars in about a year’s time. Great Scott!
The U.S. company entitled Terrafugia will begin the manufacturing of flying cars, with the first line dubbed the Transition Roadable Light Sport Aircraft–simply the “Transition” for short. This is a vehicle that only needs about 30 seconds to literally transform from car to aircraft! With flying speeds of 115 miles per hour and driving speeds of 65 miles per hour, you actually have science fiction knocking on your door–and the Transition looks pretty slick, too.
With a full tank of petroleum gas, you can dfly the sucker a good 400 to 450 miles–not too shabby. Terrafugia already has 100 orders made for the phenomenal new vehicle sporting the technology we only dreamt of but now see as a reality. Don’t hold your breath in getting one, though, as this baby will start off at $203,275. Hopefully we’ll get installment plans, but who knows. You will, however, need an aviator’s license to drive the thing….
Either way you look at it, you’ll be singing “Johnny Be Good” while driving it. Just watch out for that 1.21 gigawatt lightning bolt!
